I live in Athens and I operate as a Licensed Tourist Guide throughout Greece all year long in English, Spanish, German and Greek the last 25 years.
I graduated from the Greek State School of Guides, the official state education institution for professional guides in Greece. My preparation lasted 2,5 years and covered apart from history and archaeology all possible fields of knowledge involved in guiding (geography, botanology, religion, mythology, folklore, economy and foreign affairs, tourism law, guiding technique and tourism psychology).
Apart from my official guiding studies, I have graduated as a historian with a Masters Degree from the University of Athens and as a doctor with a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Durham in England, where I spent 5 years. My specialization is Symbolism in Minoan Crete, a subject that I found thrilling as it explores the magic world of symbols, their emergence and assimilation and their power to further shape societies and individuals.
My job is my passion. I love learning new things and constantly building on my knowledge. Most of all I am enthusiastic about interacting with people and transmitting Greece’s rich heritage experienced through fascinating narratives!!!
